The Realities of Executive Coaching is a Harvard Business Review Research Report published in January 2009. An abbreviated version of the study results appeared in the January 2009 issue of the Harvard Business Review. The researchers analyzed survey results of 140 senior executive coaches, primarily from the United States and United Kingdom.

The 2009 Sherpa Executive Coaching Survey is their fourth annual survey. The survey presents results from 1,500 participants, including coaches, HR professionals and users. The survey includes trends and a comparative analysis based on earlier survey results.
