Executive coaching is a customized service aimed at accelerating professional development and positive business results. Two 2009 surveys look at executive and business coaching trends from both the coach and sponsor/user perspectives. Who works with a coach? For how long? What are average coaching fees based on coach experience or credentials? These are some of the areas addressed in these studies. The Realities of Executive Coaching is a Harvard Business Review Research Report published in January 2009. An abbreviated version of the study results appeared in the January 2009 issue of the Harvard Business Review. The researchers analyzed survey results of 140 senior executive coaches, primarily from the United States and United Kingdom.
